　　Jesse Owens - Hero of Berlin

　　Jesse Owens is an African-American who was the hero of the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He assured himself a place in sports history on 25 May 1935, when he broke 5 world records and one of these world records, 8.13m in long jump, would last for 25 years.

　　For the 1936 Berlin Olympics, he won gold medals in 100m sprint and long jump in which he barely qualified for the final. He also won gold medals in 200m sprint, and ran the leadoff leg for the U.S. team in the 4X100m relay, in which the American team set a world record that would last for 20 years.

　　Adolf Hitler and the Nazis had hoped that the 1936 Olympics would prove their theory of racial superiority. However, the people of Berlin rejected the Nazi's and cheered Jesse Owens as their hero of the Berlin Olympics.

　　杰西-欧文斯：柏林的英雄

　　美籍非洲裔运动员杰西-欧文斯是1936年柏林奥运会的英雄。1935年5月25日，欧文斯就以出色的表现确保了自己在体育史上占有一席之地，那一天他打破了5项世界纪录，其中在跳远项目上他跳出了8米13的成绩，这个纪录一直保持了25年。

　　1936年柏林奥运会上，欧文斯夺得100米的冠军，虽然他差点未能进入跳远的决赛，但还是获得了这枚金牌。200米的金牌也被欧文斯获得，他还为美国队跑4X100米接力的第一棒，而美国队最终不仅创造了世界纪录而且保持了20年之久。
