Nepali PM Prachanda leaves for Beijing

      KATHMANDU, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda", the first elected prime minister of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal and chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN-M) on Saturday left capital Kathmandu for Beijing, China.

      Prime Minister Prachanda, leading a Nepalese delegation, is to attend the closing ceremony of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

      Minister for Information and Communications, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, senior officials of the Prime Minister's Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs are accompanying the Prime Minister.

      The Prime Minister and his delegation are scheduled to return to Kathmandu on Aug. 27, 2008.
