Mountaineering team returns, safe and sound

　　(QOMOLANGMA, May 9) -- A hero's welcome was in store for the mountaineers who braved the harsh weather conditions and high altitude of Mount Qomolangma to carry the sacred flame to the world's highest peak.

　　Leaders of Chinese Mountaineering Association, and Mount Qomolangma Base Camp, along with other related persons, rushed to the foot of the mountain to celebrate the team's victorious ascent and descent.

　　About 100 fans were on hand to congratulate the team upon their arrival back on flat land, braving very high winds and occasional flurries.

　　Each mountaineer that accompanied the sacred flame has returned safely.
