All finalists ready for Men's Flatwater K1 500m

  (BEIJING, August 21) -- Nine qualifiers for the Men's Flatwater Kayak Single (K1) 500 meter final emerged from three semifinal runs on Thursday, August 21.

  Adam van Koeverden of Canada, Anton Ryakhov of Russia and Ken Wallace of Australia all advanced from semifinal one.

  Steven Ferguson of New Zealand, Sweden's Anders Gustafsson and Great Britain's Tim Brabants all qualified from semifinal two.

  Stjepan Janic from Croatia, Eirik Veraas Larsen of Norway and Hungarian Akos Vereckei finished in the top three of semifinal three. Janic clocked the fastest time of all three heats, coming in at 1:41.689 minutes.

  The final will take place on Saturday, August 23 at 3:30 p.m. (UTC/GMT +8) at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park.
