LA JOLLA, California, Feb 2, 2008 - Lindsay Davenport lost for only the third time in 28 Fed Cup singles matches on Saturday but Ashley Harkleroad lifted the United States level 1-1 with visiting Germany in a first-round tie.

　　German 19-year-old Sabine Lisicki downed Davenport 6-1, 7-5 while Harkleroad beat Germany's Tatiana Malek 6-1, 6-3 to equalize the best-of-five encounter entering Sunday's reverse singles and doubles matches.
