Jankovic advances when Davenport retires injured

　　INDIAN WELLS , California, March 20, 2008 - Third-seeded Serbian Jelena Jankovic advanced to the semi-finals of the Pacific Life Open on Thursday when opponent Lindsay Davenport retired after dropping the first set.

　　US veteran Davenport had called for the trainer during the set, and called it a day with an apparent back injury after Jankovic took the opening frame 6-2.

　　Jankovic advanced to a meeting with top-seeded compatriot Ana Ivanovic, who beat Russian Vera Zvonareva 6-1, 6-4 in the 5.7 million-dollar WTA and ATP Masters Series tournament.
