MADRID, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita said on Monday that his side could not relax for a moment in their vital Champions League qualifying game against Wisla Krakov.

Barcelona entertains the Polish side in the first leg of the tie with a return match in Poland two weeks later. In theory the Catalan outfit is by far the stronger team and is clear favorite to qualify for the lucrative group stage, but Keita says they can take nothing for granted.

"We have to be alert," he told the club website www:fcbarcelona. com

"We have begun to prepare the game well and we all know our rivals, but the most important thing is that we perform ourselves," added Keita.

The midfielder, born in the Cote d'Ivoire, joined Barcelona this summer from Sevilla. It has been a difficult two months for Barca after President Joan Laporta narrowly survived a vote of confidence from club members.

Keita realized that factor could affect the atmosphere in the Camp Nou stadium on Wednesday, but he asked for the fans to be patient.

"The fans are a part of the club and that is very important. It could be that there are some doubts at the start from the fans, but we have to give everything. If we do that, then the supporters will understand," said Keita.

Finally Keita explained that Barca's pre-season to date had all been carried out with the Champions League game in mind.

"Our objective has been to work as fast as possible, to build up our levels of physical fitness and to work in both attack and defense," he said.
