Mathieu maintains France' perfect record

  (BEIJING, August 12) -- Paul-Henri Mathieu of France maintained his country's perfect record in the Men's Singles at the Olympic Tennis tournament when he surprised No. 4 seed Nikolay Davydenko of Russia 7-5, 6-3 at the Olympic Green Tennis Center on Tuesday, August 12.

  Davydenko started well and broke Mathieu in the fourth game, but the French player fought back to 5-5 and won the next five games in the row.

  Mathieu maintained his momentum from 7-5, 3-0 to wrap up a 7-5, 6-3 victory and advance to the third round, along with teammates Gael Monfils and Gilles Simon.

  Michael Llodra could become their fourth teammate to reach the round-of-16 if he defeats Igor Andreev of Russia.
